Overall Aim: Emerging Leaders in CommUnity is a leadership development and life transformation training program designed to help youth grow and experience exponential growth in every area of pursuit so that they would lay a sure and strong foundation for years to come. 


Content Playbook: Emerging Leaders in CommUnity is offered primarily as an emotional and relational intelligence huddle building upon the learning process from the foundational training of the SDI 2.0 Assessment. Emerging Leaders in CommUnity provide intentionality and accountability to the praxis and application of Relational and Emotional Intelligence principles and concepts. 


Emerging Leaders in CommUnity provide youth and next generation leaders with honest and ongoing feedback and support that inspires, challenges, facilitates growth and change, and partners with other youth and mentors to achieve stated personal goals. 

How it’s Different from Other Youth Programs and Models:  It starts with a world-class assessment (SDI 2.0) that takes youth and next generation leaders on a journey of identity discovery and equips them with proven strategies to increase their relationship IQ and effectiveness as a family member, student, team member and community leader. 

PREREQUISITES

  1. Take the SDI 2.0 Assessment (30-minutes)

  2. Review your assessment results and watch the videos on the Core Strengths Platform to better understand your motivational value system, conflict sequence and patterns, strengths and overdone strengths. (45-minutes) 

Gatherings Focus By Weeks: 

Week #1: Debrief of SDI 2.0 and Core Strengths Platform 

  • Receive questions regarding their assessment results and SDI in general 

  • Share insights about their assessment results and relational intelligence 

  • The correlation between Acceptance and People: Linked to the desire to help and care for people.

  • The alignment between Significance and Performance: Connected to the drive for success, task accomplishment and achievement.

  • The connection between Security and Process: Associated with the need for structure, order, and analysis.

Week #2: Find your true Identity, answers the question - Who am I and who am I becoming 

  • Gain a deeper understanding of self 

    • Your Motivational Value System (MVS)

    • Conflict Patterns

    • Strengths and Overdone Strengths 

Week #3: Life Purpose and Callinganswers the question - why do I exist and what is my life calling?

  • Discovering one’s life purpose and living a life that reflects that calling

  • Using talents, gifts, and resources to serve others and make a difference in one’s family, community and world

Week #4: Communicating in the Right Style

  • Learning to use the Translator 

  • Words mean different things by MVS

  • Are you a 100% Listener? 

  • How Do You Listen?

Week #5: Maintaining Emotional and Mental Health 

  • Resilience and Coping Skills: Equipping youth to handle challenges, stress and failures

  • Overcoming anxiety, depression, and emotional struggles using Emotional Intelligence

  • The importance of vulnerability and building deep, supportive friendships with others 

  • Addressing societal pressures and toxic behaviors through your faith

  • Reducing stigma around mental health

Week #6: Physical Health and Wellness 

  • Physical Health: Encouraging healthy eating, exercise, and understanding basic health practices

  • Understanding Your Anatomy and family health history and dynamics 

  • Substance Abuse Awareness: Educating on the risks of drugs, alcohol, and other harmful substances

Week #7: Education and Skills Development

  • Goal Setting and Planning: Teaching how to set achievable goals and develop action plans

  • Academic Support: Tutoring, study skills, and guidance on educational pathways

  • Career Readiness: Resume building, job interview preparation, and exposure to various career options

  • Financial Literacy: Basics of budgeting, saving, and managing money

Week #8: Leadership and Civic Engagement

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Building skills to work effectively with others

  • Community Involvement: Encouraging volunteerism and active participation in community projects

  • Advocacy Skills: Teaching youth to voice their opinions and take action on issues they care about

Week #9: Social Skills and Relationships

  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and nonverbal communication, active listening

  • Conflict Resolution: Techniques for managing and resolving disagreements

  • Building Healthy Relationships: Understanding boundaries, trust, and respect in friendships and other relationships

  • Supporting each other in struggles, temptations, and spiritual/emotional/cognitive growth

  • Creating safe spaces for open and honest conversations

Week #10: Cultural Intelligence Awareness and Inclusion

  • Developing Cultural Intelligence to function effectively in a variety of national, ethnic, and organizational cultures

  • Diversity and Tolerance: Promoting understanding and appreciation of different cultures and perspective

  • Global Citizenship: Understanding global issues and your role in creating change

Week #11: Mentorship and Role Models

  • Mentor Support: Connecting youth with mentors and life coaches who provide guidance and encouragement

  • Positive Role Models: Highlighting inspiring individuals from various fields and helping make significant connections through networking

Week #12: Create a Plan to follow your Life Purpose and Calling

  • This should begin to answer the questions - how will accomplish my life mission, where, and what will be my vocation 

  • Deploying strengths and underutilized strengths, communication skills, and applying relational intelligence to your leadership and relationships

Who it’s For:  Youth and High Schoolers, and Next Generation College Students who desire to grow and experience life transformation in every area of pursuit so that they would lay a sure and strong foundation for years to come. 


How it Works:  By utilizing proven assessment tools, the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI 2.0) and Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Assessment (optional), students will gain deeper and more personal insights into their motivations, conflict patterns, strengths, culture and communication styles. This knowledge will reveal their relationship’s unique blueprint and, when combined with practical tools to enhance their relational IQ, it will help transform their most meaningful relationships at home, school and in their community.
